Plane wood has a light red brown color which changes into a very attractive and significantly darker brown after the smoking process. In radial section, very decorative reflections are resulting – plane veneers remind of snakeskin. The plane was the favorite tree of Napoleon and whenever one of his children was born, he planted plane tree parkways radially from Paris into other large cities along the avenues. Probably, his soldiers should march in their shadow. Smoked plane tree veneers are used for the interior design of the Porsche Cayenne.
